Yay, Disney World!
This past month, my family and I took a fun vacation to Disney World where we enjoyed rides, entertainment, and food.
I don't know about you but every time I go someplace special, I have to see what they have to offer and Disney World is no different.
Disney World is known for its over-the-top treats and Epcot, especially, has a wide variety of food options for everyone to enjoy.
After riding on Spaceship Earth, I grabbed one of my nephews and made our way to Electric Umbrella.
Electric Umbrella offers great options for lunch, dinner, and desserts to snack on. One dessert option stuck out to me the most. The croissant donut! It was flaky, sugary and was great to split between two people.
The croissant donut would be a great breakfast to make for yourself and others.
I decided to share some recipes that are easy to do at home with some twists that would be tasty, starting with the croissant donut from Electric Umbrella.
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup of dark brown sugar
dash of ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
36 fl. oz of vegetable oil
Pillsbury crescent rolls
Take apart the dough and cut out small circles in the middle, making it a donut shape.
In a small bowl, mix white sugar, dark brown sugar, and cinnamon together and set aside.
Melt butter in the microwave for 45 seconds.
Take the melted butter out of the microwave and add vanilla extract. Set aside.
Place the vegetable oil in a large pot and wait for it to reach boiling point.
Once the oil has reached boiling point, gently put the dough in the oil. DO NOT CROWD THE PAN.
Let the donuts fry for 1 minute on each side.
Carefully, take the donut out of the oil and place on a plate lined with a couple of paper towels.
Take one donut at a time and swirl it around in the melted butter and then in the sugar mix.
Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes and serve!
These homemade croissant donuts are a little bit different. These were very moist and fluffier than the ones from Electric Umbrella.
I hope you all enjoy this recipe I recreated. Let me know how you liked it.
Stay tuned for more recreations from Disney World!
