How To Perfect 3 Different Boxed Cake Flavors

Hello everyone! Today marks the first anniversary of The House Hermit. I cannot believe it's been a whole year. Time does fly by! Thank you to everyone who followed a recipe and read a post. Much more content will be available the rest of the year and beyond. On behalf of this milestone, what better way to celebrate is baking some cupcakes?!

Homemade cupcakes can get a little tricky but luckily I perfected boxed cake. I am usually the go-to person if someone wants to cupcakes and usually, people assume that it's homemade. Box cake can be straight forward but sometimes it doesn't turn outright. Below, I listed a few tips that will make sure they come out great every time!

  1. Add vanilla extract: Vanilla extract gives a boost to baked goods and I always use vanilla extract in my baking.

  2. Pay attention to the time!: Some people think that if they leave the cupcakes in the oven a little bit longer, they will turn it out fine. WRONG! Always follow the temperature and time instructions on the boxed cake. If you leave in the cupcakes for a longer time, they'll turn out dry and no one wants a dry cupcake.

  3. Over-whip: If you think all of the ingredients are blended, you're probably right but to give your cupcakes a boost blend until you can't no more. I usually blend for 15 to 20 minutes. Yes, I know it's extreme but they will be the softest, fluffiest, melt-in-your-mouth cupcakes ever!
