Did you know that chocolate chip cookies are ranked #3 as the most popular dessert in America? Neither did I! It makes sense because everyone I know loves chocolate chip cookies. They're a warm, decadent dessert that satisfies that sweet tooth. These cookies are special to me because they're vegan! They taste like the real deal and if you serve these to your loved ones, no one will notice that they're vegan!
These simple vegan chocolate chip cookies are easy to make and I'm pretty sure you'll able to find most of the ingredients in your pantry.
Below is the vegan chocolate chip cookies recipe!
2 1/4 cups of flour
1 TBL baking soda
1 TBL of salt
2 sticks (or 1 cup) of vegan butter (Country Crock Avocado Oil Plant Butter)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce
2 cups of vegan chocolate chips (Enjoy Life Mini Chips)
Sit out vegan butter so it can get soft or heat in the microwave for 20 seconds.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a small bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
Mix granulated sugar and dark brown sugar.
Combine vegan butter to the granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar until creamy.
Add applesauce and vanilla extract and mix.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter, sugar, and applesauce mixture.
Add in chocolate chips.
Grease your baking sheet with vegan butter.
Scoop out a tablespoon and roll the dough into your hand.
Place the cookie dough an inch apart.
Bake for 11 to 13 minutes.
Carefully take out the vegan chocolate chip cookies and let it rest for at LEAST 15 minutes before eating.
